Green light for the EU directive on the criminal protection of the environment!

The aim of the new directive is to achieve more effective protection of the environment. This is to be ensured through the introduction of several new criminal offenses and, above all, through severe or, in the words of the directive, deterrent criminal sanctions. After the directive comes into force, the member states will have two years to implement it nationally.
